SKS Studio to Begin Site Work This Summer at The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences

The luxurious 43-story building offers 231 residential homes comprised of two, three, four and five-bedroom residences including Skycourts, Penthouses and Garden Suites, ranging from 1,434 to 17,088 square feet, approximately 800 hotel rooms and a retail center catering to discerning tastes.

With construction well underway, the modernist design is already reshaping the Dubai skyline and drawing the first sales of the awe-inspiring residences. “Fourteen of the 42 storeys are now out of the ground, and a floor is being poured every eight to nine days. After years of designs and drawings, it’s thrilling to see the visionary ideas of the world’s most renowned firms coming to life,” says Sean Simms, SKS Studio president.

SKS Studio partnered with landscape architecture firm 40North for The Royal Atlantis project. The two firms have been collaborating on all outside spaces and outdoor areas on the building, including the magnificent landscaping for the Skycourts, which feature stunning acrylic pools 42 storeys up.

At this phase in the project, either Simms or John Galloway, 40North president, will always be on site for one week per month over the course of the next two years. Simms explains, “Design doesn’t end when the drawings are complete. Principal-level involvement is critical when working with other firms of this caliber and on a project of this magnitude. We’ve committed to spend significant time in Dubai through 2020. Kerzner International is known for introducing jaw-dropping experiences that redefine a destination. With Dubai establishing itself as one of the best places in the world to live, The Royal Atlantis will attract high net worth global residents for whom relaxation, privacy and immersion in the environment are paramount.”
